Sponsored Rider – Tamara-Jane Davis

Tamara Jane Davis

Tamara-Jane Davis is an International Event rider of New Zealand nationality.  Based on the Wirral, Tamara has a string of 6 eventers ranging from her youngest 3yr old to her top horse, Arctic Mouse.  She has owned “Mouse” since he was a 5 year old, who many will know as being one of Oliver Townend’s top horses, winning many events including his first CCI3* at Ballindenisk in Ireland.

The 2015 season saw “Mouse” and Tamara go clear round Chatsworth 1*, one of her favourite events in the calendar and she hopes to return this year with a number of her horses. Tamara is more excited than ever for the upcoming 2016 season, with hopes of competing “Mouse” at 2* level, and a number of her talented younger horses stepping up to novice level. Alongside preparing for the upcoming season she is looking forward to beginning work with her Ramiro B bred 3 year old, who returns home in late January from Hart Hill Stud, ready to be broken.

Tamara says I am excited for the opportunity to work with Claire and hopefully we can work together to take myself and my horses to the next level as I believe that both horse and rider can really benefit from the many aspects that Claire’s work covers

Sponsored Junior Rider – Lucy Peters

Lucy is our Junior Sponsored rider and has owned Buddy a 10 year old Connemara gelding for almost 3 years and has had the most amazing journey with him. Lucy has been riding for 6 years, and started competing when she got Buddy 3 years ago. She is an active member of Burton Cheshire Forest Hunt Pony Club, and is on the Pony Club winter league team as well as working towards her B test at Pony Club. Buddy excels at showjumping and last year competed at the North West showjumping championships in, where they took reserve champion in the Blue-chip speed finals.

During the summer they competed in our first BSJA competition in which they jumped a double clear in. Buddy knows his job and always tries his best and they have also qualified for the Pony Club Dengie area competition.

In 2016 their aim is to compete in British Eventing, which has always been their goal. Lucy hopes to take part in some BE youth training throughout the season as well. But most of all she just wants to make sure that they both try their best when out competing and that they continue to enjoy it like we always have.

Lucy said, “I am so happy that Claire chose me and Buddy as her Junior Sponsored Rider for 2016 and I’m really looking forward to working with her. I am really pleased with the improvement with Buddy from our first session and really think this is going to help him so much this year.”

Sponsored Agility Dog – Seanie (Border Collie)

Sisters Vicky and Jo Roberts rescued Seanie from the Border Collie Trust GB in September 2013. He was a timid boy who had come from the pound in Ireland with no history. They soon realised that Seanie was a special dog but was going to need a lot of TLC to overcome his fears and anxieties. They decided to take Seanie to their local agility club to give him some confidence and socialisation, and quickly realised he had a natural talent for agility. After 6 months of basic training, they competed in their first show, coming away with an agility addiction.

Seanie went from strength to strength, and started winning rosettes during the winter season, winning an independent beginners winter league and going from grade 1 to 2 in May 2015 and grade 3 in October 2015. They compete locally, around Cheshire and the north west and as far as Ipswich. This winter they have decided to focus on training and improving their handling and course skills to get ready for the summer season.

Vicky says Seanie receives regular treatment from Claire which has not only helped him keep supple and in shape for agility, but has also helped Seanie with his fear of being handled. Claire is very kind, gentle and extremely knowledgable, we cannot recommend her highly enough”
